Made in the USA

Has anyone else noticed that Wal-Mart no longer sports the big "American Made" motto they used to? What happened to that? Did it die with Sam Walton? I'm not being down on Wal-Mart, don't get me wrong, but I just wish that we supported our own factories and manufacturers (what's left of them anyhow). And it's not like we can boycott Wal-Mart, around my area it's all we have. I've become a label checker....I bought two shirts and a pair of pants last night as I need clothes desperately and not a one was made in the USA. And I tried to find some. And it's not just Wal-Mart...it's just about any store. Even the company that I'm associated with has most of their product manufactured outside the United States...it's hard to avoid anymore. So, I'm kinda stuck there. However.....I'm going to make it my goal to start finding places we can shop that carry USA products...We all want to support our soldiers....let's support them by bringing business back to our country, and hopefully that will help bring them back to us as well. Let's support the USA as much as we possibly can.

And just as I was about to post this, I got an email from my SIL...how true is this:

Joe Smith started the day early having set his
alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN ) for 6 am.
While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA ) was perking, he shaved with his
electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG ). He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN
SRI LANKA ), designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE ) and tennis shoes (MADE
IN KOREA ) After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MADE
IN INDIA ) he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO ) to see how
much he could spend today. After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN ) to
the radio (MADE IN INDIA ) he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY ) filled
it with GAS (from Saudi Arabia ) and continued his search for a good
paying AMERICAN JOB. At the end of yet another discouraging and
fruitless day checking his Computer (Made In Malaysia ), Joe decided to
relax for a while. He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL ) poured
himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE ) and turned on his TV (MADE IN
INDONESIA ),and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in
AMERICA ...

Ouch....

So the sun poisoning isn't getting better....it's worse. My neck is red and blotchy and ITCHY!!! I've been putting hydrocortisone on it hoping it will help. I haven't had it like this since I was a kid. If it doesn't go away in a day or so I guess I'll be calling the doctor. I bought some new sunscreen tonight, hopefully that will work...i can't give up my noon walks!

Custom painting...

I may be biased, as this is my brother, but I saw him this weekend with some of his friends out riding their motorcycles. I went out to check out his bike, to see how he painted it, and then I look down the line of bikes, there were probably 10 or 12 bikes, and every other one sported his logo as he had painted them. They were awesome! Not to mention, alot of his work is free hand.....and it's amazing! He's painted my husband's service truck, and this really fun toilet as a gag gift to my husband for Christmas...that we've had more compliments and questions regarding purchasing one. You have to check out his site to see some of his work. It is absolutely amazing. I plan on having him customize my car soon and also my husband's summer truck. I can't wait!

I need a sunscreen that works!!!

I spent the weekend outside since it was SO GORGEOUS!! Saturday was 85 which is unusual for this time of year. Sunday, the cooler day, I think it was 70-75 and windy and I got sun poisoning....and that was WITH sunscreen. I need to find a sunscreen that will hold up. I usually reapply when I go inside for a break...my daughter didn't get burned thank goodness, but I sure did.
It was a very nice weekend though, weather wise. I did have to bathe my stinky skunk dogs, which was quite the riot. Sissy did well, but Butch about took me in the pool when he jumped over it. Then he got mad afterwards and took off....we found him when one of my fabulous neighbors took a shot at him. Grrrrr....
Other than that, nothing exciting happened.

Dang Dogs!!

You can always tell when the weather is getting better...the dogs get restless. And they decided to take off for the swamp last night. We aren't sure when they came back. I stayed up till 2 and Chris checked around 4 and they still weren't back. Well.....when they did show up we smelled them. Yup....SKUNKED. they can't even stand the smell of each other. Good thing it's going to be nice the next few days so they can stay outside and air out!!!

It's Friday

And I am glad. I'm wore out from this stinking cold I have been fighting this week. Work is getting to me and I'd just like to go home and hide for a bit. But, I have a CM show Saturday, so I can't get away with hiding all weekend. Hopefully my voice will hold out through those couple hours. :)

My besteresterest friend

I have a friend that I have known since 7th grade...that's 21 years...she is the greatest. I don't know what I would ever do without her. It's rare to find someone that knows you inside and out and still loves you for who you are. And to be friends for that long...wow...how she has put up with me is beyond me! LOL!!! she's the best!! I hope that our children are as good of friends as we are.

So this is me

and I'm trying out this "blogging thing" LOL! This is my first post.....and I'm keeping it short. :)
